Frank Harper, Born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, Coach Harper enters his fourteenth year with Eagle Mustang baseball. Coach Harper was a two sport letterman out of Ben Davis High School. He earned All-Conference and All-State honors in baseball and basketball while at Ben Davis. Drafted out of highschool by the Cleveland Indians' Organization where he played for two seasons (1975-76) before an arm injury prevented him from continuing his baseball career.
After baseball, Coach Harper entered the military where he spent twenty years, retiring in 1997.
At Eagle High School, Coach Harper started his coaching career as Assistant Sophomore Coach. After three years as an assistant coach, Coach Harper took the Head Sophomore Coaching position. In the five years as Head Sophomore Coach, Coach Harper's teams racked-up an impressive 92 and 34 record with three appearances in the district championship. In 2003 during the state playoffs Coach Harper took over as the Varsity first base coach as Eagle went on to win the 2003 State Championship. In 2004 Coach Harper was appointed Assistant Varsity Coach and is entering his fourth year.
In addition to high school baseball, Coach Harper was the Head Coach for the Eagle Vipers American Legion team. Coach Harper spent seven years as the Single A coach and in 2004 was hired as the AA coach. Coach Harper is in his fourth year of coaching the Eagle Owls in Idaho's first summer college baseball league (Boise Collegiate Summer Baseball League). Coach Harper is also an Associate Scout with the Detroit Tigers.
Coach Harper and his wife Alicia reside in Eagle; they have two children, Chad 26 and Corey 24. Corey was a member of the "2003 State Championship Team" and went on to pitch for the Pratt Beavers and Blue Mountain Timberwolves.
